Gone Astray

He was there the day that I went astray

God watched as I wondered and then lost my way

Into the mountain of darkness where danger is all around

God call my name, but I refused to heard his sound

All at once the fear began to settle in

The darkness that surrounded me, was more than I could stand

I could feel the breath of the lion, there at my feet

Demons danced before me, as my eyes began to weep

I cried for a time, when I was in Gods care

His rod and his staff, kept me safely there

In the pasture of my shepherd, in his loving hands

Safe from the demons found in Satan’s land

I tried to find the path that had led me astray

But everywhere was the darkness, I couldn’t find my way

Then I cried out to my shepherd, forgive me, I know not what I do

And light consumed the darkness, and I found my way back to you

Never give up once you have gone astray

Your Shepherd is looking he searches night and day

Never give up once you have gone astray

Your Shepherd is looking he searches night and day
