Lost Souls and Country Music
Written by Terry Thomas
Honky tonks fill with angels, each night when the sun goes down
The neon lights tell every man just where they can be found
Night lights bounce off the smoke that lingers in the air
Lost souls and country music make me wish I was there
The band is playing music to a good ole country song
Some couples they two stepping, others shuffle right along
Each one is looking for something, a smile, a wink a stare
Lost souls and country music make we wish I was there
I grew up in honky tonks, country music was in my head
The music from my radio played softly by my bed
Some times when a song played my mamma would take my hand
She taught me to how jitter bug, to I’m a honky man.
Honky tonks fill with angels, each night when the sun goes down
Bars stool hold the lonely men who buy another round
Night lights bounce off the smoke that lingers in the air
Lost souls and country music make me wish I was there
Lost souls and country music make me wish I was there
