Working Mans Prayer

Lord this morning I awaken as the sunshine touched my face

You’ve given me one more day, thank you for your grace

Tell me what it is; you would like me to do

For I am your servant, and I rise to praise you

Every morning when you bless me with one more day of life

I rise and sing my praises; I am so thankful this life

Fill my heart and soul put your strength in my hands

And I will go forth doing all that you command

Working to make sure the ones I love can be fed

With each drop of sweat, there is a prayer in my head

Each night when I lay down I feel the pain of my years

Then I pray to my Lord, he gives me strength and calms my fears

So if tomorrow I should awaken, there’ll be a smile on my face

For I know that my Lord gave me one more day of grace

And no matter the challenge on this day that I must bare

I know the Lord is walking with me, he’ll see me through it, because he cares
